Aluminum panels are a type of aluminum alloy decorative product that we see in our daily lives, whether on our way to work, at our workplace, in places for relaxation after work, or while shopping. Why is the application range of aluminum panels so extensive?
Metal decorative panels have been in use for decades, with the main products still in use being aluminum panels, aluminum-plastic panels, and honeycomb panels. The most commonly used are aluminum-plastic panels and aluminum panels, which we will analyze below.
Advantages of aluminum-plastic panels:
Aluminum-plastic panels are composed of aluminum and a low-density plastic core material, making them much lighter compared to aluminum (or other metals) of the same rigidity or thickness, and significantly lighter than glass or stone.

2. The curtain walls decorated with aluminum-plastic panels are not inferior to the splendid glass curtain walls and elegant stone curtain walls. Under sunlight, their surfaces are both brilliant and substantial, while also avoiding light pollution, with high surface flatness.
3. Cost-effective, the price is relatively lower compared to other materials.
The disadvantages of aluminum-plastic panels include four aspects:
1. The structure of composite aluminum panels generally consists of three layers, with the outer two sides being aluminum layers of 0.1-0.3 mm thickness. The middle core material mainly uses low-density polyethylene (high-density polyethylene) and other polymer materials, bonded with tree resin glue. Both the core material and glue contain toxic components, and their fire resistance, weather resistance, durability, and anti-aging properties are relatively poor. They can release harmful gases to human health when burned, exposed to high temperatures, or under sunlight.
2. The composite strength is not high, making them prone to breakage when bent or curved. When heated locally, the core material may expand, causing the surface aluminum plates to deform and fall off. Additionally, their thermal expansion coefficient is generally larger than that of the keel and building materials, often leading to bulging and affecting aesthetics.
3. During installation, they generally share lightning protection devices with the building structure, while the core material and fasteners of composite aluminum panels are poor electrical conductors, making them susceptible to high-voltage lightning strikes.
4. Due to the inherent strength of the materials, their resistance to wind pressure is not high. Currently, advanced countries abroad rarely use composite aluminum panel curtain walls in high-rise buildings, opting instead for single-layer aluminum panels that are relatively safer and more reliable.
The strengths of aluminum panels include:
1. Corrosion resistance: The surface treatment uses high fluorocarbon spray KYNAR500 with a high resin content, effectively resisting acid rain, air pollution, and ultraviolet erosion.
2. No light pollution: The matte surface of the fluorocarbon coating (with a gloss level of around 35) reflects light diffusely, avoiding pollution. 3. Self-cleaning: The special molecular structure of KYNAR500 in the fluorocarbon coating prevents dust from adhering to the surface, resulting in strong cleanliness.
4. Color options: The fluorocarbon coating comes in up to 100 colors and can be customized to create special colors according to user requirements.
5. High strength: The high-quality aluminum used has high strength, and the welding process at the openings significantly enhances the rigidity of the aluminum panels, ensuring the curtain wall's resistance to wind, earthquakes, rainwater leakage, air infiltration, lightning, and impact. 6. Recyclable, beneficial for the environment.
Aluminum panels can be processed into various specifications such as flat panels, double-curved panels, and special-shaped panels. After sheet metal forming, they can undergo surface treatments such as fluorocarbon spraying, acrylic acid spraying, and powder coating, with colors available for arbitrary selection, widely used for interior and exterior decoration.
