Fluorocarbon aluminum panel manufacturer: Common methods to identify fluorocarbon aluminum panels

Jul 15,2021

Salespeople occasionally tell customers that it is impossible to distinguish the authenticity of fluorocarbon aluminum panels with the naked eye. This is indeed correct. However, this does not mean that there are no simple methods to identify them, nor does it mean that aluminum panel manufacturers can do as they please. In reality, some aluminum panel manufacturers deceive consumers by using polyester aluminum panels or powder-coated aluminum panels to impersonate fluorocarbon aluminum panels in order to win price wars. But is this really the case? Is there no way to address this? Can we only let aluminum panel manufacturers do as they wish?

In the aluminum panel industry, there is a simple method to test the authenticity of fluorocarbon aluminum panels, but it requires a chemical reagent—methyl ethyl ketone (MEK). The specific steps involve wetting a clean cloth with MEK solution, then rubbing it back and forth on the paint surface of the aluminum panel. After a moment, observe any changes on the surface that has been wiped. Of course, if the aluminum panel has been wiped with MEK, it can be placed in sunlight for a while. If the surface of the aluminum panel does not change color, it is definitely a fluorocarbon aluminum panel. If the aluminum panel changes color or peels, it is not a genuine fluorocarbon aluminum panel.

Here, it is necessary to introduce 'methyl ethyl ketone.' The chemical name of methyl ethyl ketone is 'methyl ethyl ketone.' It is a colorless, transparent liquid that is easily volatile. Due to its special structure, its chemical properties are relatively stable, and it easily undergoes various reactions. This is one of the reasons for choosing it as a testing solvent. Fluorocarbon paint itself has good chemical stability, with the very stable chemical properties of polyvinylidene fluoride resin, which is not affected by corrosion from salt, alkali, acid, moisture, and other factors, ensuring stable performance and a long service life.

Therefore, even when encountering the chemically active methyl ethyl ketone, there will be no changes, and it remains bright as new. Polyester paint, also known as unsaturated polyester paint, is primarily made from polyester resin as the main film-forming material. Polyester resin mainly consists of unsaturated polyester resin, initiators, accelerators, fillers, and thixotropic agents, which will undergo chemical changes and fade when encountering the chemically active methyl ethyl ketone. The chemical properties of powder coatings are similar. They are unstable and will change when exposed to methyl ethyl ketone. However, it is not recommended for individuals to conduct this experiment themselves, as methyl ethyl ketone is volatile and a highly toxic substance, so do not attempt it lightly. If an experiment is to be conducted, appropriate protective measures must be taken to prevent accidents.

Talk about the lightning protection features and fire safety characteristics of curtain wall aluminum panels.

The characteristics of lightning protection for curtain wall aluminum panels have been a topic of ongoing debate in the industry. Manufacturers of fluorocarbon coated aluminum panels have found that people often assume aluminum panels are made of pure aluminum, which has better conductivity. Regarding this issue, a test was conducted in a biological laboratory in Germany using two types of raw materials to test their resistance to lightning strikes. The results showed that at the moment of a lightning strike, regardless of whether aluminum composite panels or aluminum single panels were used, the curtain wall interface method could completely prevent electric shock. When subjected to lightning current, melting can easily occur at the lightning strike points on the metal or metallic surface, while plastic aluminum panels are mixed, providing relatively better lightning protection.

What should be noted for the daily maintenance and repair of exterior aluminum-plastic panels?

Aluminum-plastic panels, also known as metal composite panels, are a composite material made of aluminum and high-density polyethylene, with high-pressure polyethylene serving as the core and spray-coated aluminum alloy as the surface material. Aluminum-plastic panels have many excellent characteristics in their applications, such as good decorative art, weather resistance, corrosion resistance, impact resistance, fireproofing, waterproofing, sound insulation, and thermal insulation, making them very effective in various industrial and daily life applications. However, all types of panels require regular maintenance. Below, we will introduce what to pay attention to in the daily maintenance of aluminum-plastic panels!

The following introduces the thickness requirements and characteristics of fluorocarbon aluminum-plastic panels.

Generally, when fluorocarbon aluminum-plastic panels are used as wall panels, the thickness of the wood does not need to be too emphasized, as there is a layer of wall blocking it. At this time, more consideration should be given to the application effect of the architectural curtain wall aluminum-plastic panels, such as measuring the total width of the wall to choose the total width of the architectural curtain wall aluminum-plastic panels, making it more aesthetically pleasing. As long as it ensures beauty and practicality, more people will choose architectural curtain wall aluminum-plastic panels.
