Fluorocarbon aluminum panel manufacturer: Introduction to the common identification methods of fluorocarbon aluminum panels
Oct 04,2021
Salespeople occasionally tell customers that it is impossible to distinguish the authenticity of fluorocarbon aluminum panels with the naked eye. This is indeed correct. However, this does not mean that there are no simple methods to identify them, nor does it mean that aluminum panel manufacturers can do as they please. In reality, some aluminum panel manufacturers deceive consumers by using polyester aluminum panels or powder-coated aluminum panels to impersonate fluorocarbon aluminum panels in order to win price wars. But is this really the case? Is there no way to address this? Must we let aluminum panel manufacturers act without restraint?
In the aluminum panel industry, there is a simple method to verify the authenticity of fluorocarbon aluminum panels, but it requires a chemical reagent—methyl ethyl ketone (MEK). The specific steps involve wetting a clean cloth with MEK solution, then rubbing it back and forth on the paint surface of the aluminum panel. After a moment, observe any changes on the surface that has been wiped. Of course, if the aluminum panel has been wiped with MEK, it can be placed in sunlight for a while. If the surface of the aluminum panel does not change color, it is definitely a fluorocarbon aluminum panel. If the aluminum panel changes color or peels, it is not a genuine fluorocarbon aluminum panel.
Here, it is necessary to introduce 'methyl ethyl ketone.' The chemical name for methyl ethyl ketone is 'methyl ethyl ketone.' It is a colorless, transparent liquid that is easily volatile. Due to its special structure, its chemical properties are relatively stable, and it easily undergoes various reactions. This is one of the reasons for choosing it as a testing solvent. Fluorocarbon paint itself has good chemical stability, with the very stable chemical properties of polyvinylidene fluoride resin, which is resistant to corrosion from salt, alkali, acid, moisture, and other factors, ensuring stable performance and a long service life.
Therefore, even when encountering the chemically active methyl ethyl ketone, there will be no changes, and it remains bright as new. Polyester paint, also known as unsaturated polyester paint, is primarily made from polyester resin as the main film-forming material. Polyester resin mainly consists of unsaturated polyester resin, initiators, accelerators, fillers, and thixotropic agents, which will undergo chemical changes and fade when encountering the highly chemically active methyl ethyl ketone. The chemical properties of powder coatings are similar. They are unstable and will change when exposed to methyl ethyl ketone. However, it is not recommended for individuals to conduct this experiment themselves, as methyl ethyl ketone is highly volatile and a toxic substance, so do not attempt it lightly. If an experiment is to be conducted, appropriate protective measures must be taken to prevent accidents.
