Talk about the differences between fluorocarbon aluminum-plastic panels and polyester aluminum-plastic panels.
Dec 19,2022
Customers often ask whether to choose fluorocarbon aluminum-plastic panels or polyester aluminum-plastic panels. What are the differences between fluorocarbon aluminum-plastic panels and polyester aluminum-plastic panels? Where are they more suitable for use? Let's have a good chat about choosing fluorocarbon aluminum-plastic panels or polyester aluminum-plastic panels.
01 Appearance
In terms of appearance alone, fluorocarbon aluminum-plastic panels and polyester aluminum-plastic panels are almost identical and difficult to distinguish with the naked eye.
Both fluorocarbon spray paint and polyester coating produce aluminum-plastic panels that come in various colors and have a bright gloss, providing a good decorative effect.
The difference is that fluorocarbon aluminum-plastic panels can withstand sun exposure, rain, and weak ultraviolet light, maintaining their color for 10 to 20 years or more; while polyester aluminum-plastic panels have a lifespan of only 3 to 5 years.
02 Characteristics
The manufacturing process for both fluorocarbon aluminum-plastic panels and polyester aluminum-plastic panels is the same, involving cutting, punching, bending, welding, assembling, polishing, pre-treatment, and spraying.
Fluorocarbon aluminum-plastic panels are essentially aluminum-plastic panels with a fluorocarbon coating as the surface material; while polyester aluminum-plastic panels use polyester architectural paint as the surface material.
Fluorocarbon coatings have strong aging resistance, can withstand sun exposure and rain, resist corrosion from various air pollutants, and can resist strong ultraviolet rays and air oxidation, with a lifespan of 10 to 20 years or more.
Polyester coatings have average indoor aging resistance, but also have a certain level of UV protection, effectively blocking environmental pollution of the main material of aluminum-plastic panels, with a lifespan of 3 to 5 years.
03 Cost-Effectiveness
Which aluminum-plastic panel is stronger, fluorocarbon or polyester? If judged by characteristics, it is undoubtedly fluorocarbon aluminum-plastic panels; however, if judged by project cost-effectiveness, it may not be the case.
Fluorocarbon aluminum-plastic panels have excellent characteristics, and correspondingly, their price is higher, while polyester aluminum-plastic panels, although having average outdoor aging resistance, are more cost-effective.
04 Usable Areas
Choosing between fluorocarbon aluminum-plastic panels and polyester aluminum-plastic panels should be based on construction budget, application conditions, and design requirements.
For aluminum-plastic panel products used in outdoor building facades, we generally strongly recommend that consumers choose fluorocarbon spray processed aluminum-plastic panels. Although the cost is higher, the quality is better, the color lasts longer, and the lifespan is longer.
(According to national standards, the aluminum-plastic panels used for building facades must be from the 3××× series, and the nominal thickness of the panels (excluding the coating) must not be less than 2.5mm.)
If it is for indoor decoration such as interior walls and ceiling panels, polyester aluminum-plastic panels are also a good choice, being stain and water-resistant, weather-resistant, wear-resistant, colorful, and economical.
When choosing cost-effective aluminum-plastic panel products, both quality and price are essential.
